my approach.

I am fascinated by the way that our skin functions as an organ. In my twenties I developed Psoriasis. With over 30% of my body impacted, I began a long process  to heal my skin.  I became interested in the bidirectional relationship between the gut microbiome and skin health. As my gut healed and my skin’s biome came back into balance, the severity of my Psoriasis lessened. Since becoming a skin therapist my practice is deeply rooted in balancing the skin’s microbiome, which I believe is often overlooked in many treatment rooms.

When I work with a client I am trying to uncover the way that their skin works and how we can make incremental changes to improve the health of the skin.  I customize each treatment based on how my client’s skin is responding, and their goals. My focus is to design results driven treatments, while tapping into the para- sympathetic nervous system to calm the body and return it to a state of deep relaxation.

Having an acupuncturist working out of Cetiri was something I envisioned when I opened. The skin is a complicated organ, and treating it from an internal perspective was something I wanted my clients to have access to. In combination, targeted facial treatments and acupuncture can address your concerns, and over time, rebalance underlying disharmonies to achieve lasting results.
